Lesley Young's remarkable songwriting talent grabbed international attention when she was booked by Larry Oakes, (Bad Company, Foreigner, The Derek Trucks Band and Lou Gramm), Lesley was included in the prestigious songwriter showcase at legendary Greenwich Village club, The Bitter End in 2009, 2010, and 2012.
"She is a master songwriter who is a craftsman with words. She delivers her messages through a voice somewhat reminiscent of Shawn Colvin - strong, beautiful, and distinctively feminine." - wrote Radio Indie (USA).
Five songs on Lesley Young's album Inside, were licensed by Freeplay Music, a music licensing company in New York, New York.

Lesley is a well-regarded singer-songwriter in her hometown Toronto. A popular host of many music stages, she was also co-producer of several events, including a songwriter's showcase stage for the annual Cabbagetown Community Arts and Music Festival.
Lesley Young Duo were showcased on Amsterdam, Dutch Radio 5, presented by the Amsterdam Songwriter's Guild.
While living in Scotland for a year, Lesley presented several songwriter's events she hosted at a vegan hot spot, 13th Note, in Glasgow.

The title track from Lesley's second album Inside, was finalist in both folk and pop categories in three international song competitions, and was chosen 2nd place for a songwriting competition in France. Her song Jezebel was finalist in the folk category, for The Great American Song Contest.
Lesley's writing was published in a book. The lyrics for Lesley's touching ballad "Deschenes Avenue" and personal recollections of summers in the Woodroffe area of Ottawa at her grandmother's house, are printed in the Canadian local history project, River, Road & Rail - Woodroffe North Bicentennial Memories - New Local History Book. Her song "Deschenes Avenue" was written as part of an international songwriting event called Song-Along. Songwriters who participated in the event, wrote on one of three themes, and then performed their songs live. Written from the theme front porch, "Deschenes Avenue" was dedicated to her grandmother on album Inside.

The Lesley Young Duo spent a year in Holland, and were invited to perform at an unplugged songwriter event. The title track for her forthcoming album, 'Shadows on the Moon,' was premiered.
