Symphony For Two - Album # BSR-001
Folk, jazz, pop and poetry rub shoulders on this timeless and intense recording. Cover drawing by Paul Young.
Recorded, for the most part, live off the floor during two intensive weeks of spring, 1994, Symphony for Two marks the first translation of Lesley’s passionate and introspective songs to disc. Her vocals and guitar playing are impressive, the songs richly supported by some of Canada’s finest players, including George Koller, Jim Vivian, Alan Cole, and Matthew Shawn Fleming. Her sophisticated grasp of jazz and pop idioms is clear, and player chemistry unmistakable. The album is a tasty listen, recorded by engineering legend Nick Blagona and jazz producer/arranger James Pett.
Release date: 3rd of March, 2004, in Toronto, Canada. Digital release: Cdbaby, in 2007.
